Our Next Concert – Summer Soiree – 35th Anniversary Concert

Wincanton Choral Society’s ‘Summer Soirée’ Saturday June 14: a ‘bonne bouche’ in more ways than one!

A lighthearted evening of music by George Shearing [‘Songs and Sonnets’ from Shakespeare, by turns jazzy and swooningly beautiful] and John Rutter [‘The Sprig of Thyme’, settings of folk-songs from various parts of Britain, some more and some less well-known]

…and literally, in the form of complimentary canapés in the extended interval – with the usual pay-bar – to round off celebrations of their 35 years!

Among his numerous musical talents our musical director Neil Moore is a concert clarinetist, and he along with our long-standing and brilliant accompanist Jackie Bevan will be supplying the musical interludes.

Location: the Assembly Hall at King Arthurs School, West Hill, Wincanton BA9 9BX

Christmas Concert – Rutter Magnificat & Vivaldi Gloria. 15th December

Come and join us for an evening of joyous music making. Our MD, Neil, has arranged a wonderful line up with two amazing young sopranos together with a string quartet and our own Jacquelyn Beven on keyboards.

There is no doubt that the superb acoustics of the church will add that final, magical, ingredient.

PS. there’s also a bar !
